How to Check the Validity of Your TRN in Dubai

If you’re going to be working in Dubai, it’s important to remember that you’ll need to get your employer to submit your Temporary Residence Visa (TRN) to the Dubai government. However, if you’re away from the UAE when your TRN expires, how can you check its validity? Here are two ways you can do so while still outside of the country, so that there are no problems when you come back and need to start working again. Click TRN Verification Dubai to see intriguing realities about TRN.

Check Trusted License Number

If you have a UAE driver’s license or ID card, you must bring it with you when applying for your Emirates ID card. If your license is valid, there should be a 12-digit number on it which begins with D. This is called a Trusted License Number (TRN) and will also appear on your Emirates ID. If your license has expired, a new one will be issued using your old TRN number if it has not been registered as lost or stolen since issuance.

Call TRA

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is a government body that administers drivers’ licences. If you believe your drivers’ licence has been illegally issued, contact RTA. When you call, be prepared to explain why you think your drivers’ licence may have been illegally issued or doctored. Also include your name, address and driver’s licence number so they can match it with their records. Keep in mind that contacting RTA doesn’t guarantee it will act on your complaint.

Visit TRA Website

For starters, you’ll need to visit www.tra.gov.ae and navigate through their site until you find what you’re looking for: TRN, Driving Licence and National ID Validation Services by e-Service via SMS or App

Visit TRACOM Website

If you need to know whether your UAE Driving License is valid or not, all you have to do is visit their website. This will tell you if your license will be accepted and how long it’s valid for. Be sure to check their website regularly, since rules can change over time (and they often do).

Get TRA Contact Number

You’ll need to contact TRA via phone to check if your license is valid. To get their phone number, call 8009090.

Report Fraudulent License Issue to TRA

Even if you know for sure your driver’s license is valid, make a police report just in case it turns out that someone else stole your ID. Make sure to do so as soon as possible after realizing your license has been compromised—the sooner you act, the easier it will be for authorities to put a stop on any fraudulent actions being taken on your behalf. This also serves as another layer of protection should a scammer decide to impersonate you down the line.
