Host: Future Workplace Webinars
By: Jeff Wald, Co-Founder and President, WorkMarket, an ADP Company and Jeanne Meister, Executive Vice President, Executive Networks, and Founder, Future Workplace Academy

As the robots rise, we thought our major issue was how will we work with Robots? Now, we are asking what will work look like post covid-19?

The world has witnessed three step functions in technological change: mechanization, electrification, and computerization. These industrial revolutions led to massive increases in productivity and thus we needed far fewer workers.

Now as we are in the fourth great leap forward in technology with robots and AI, we face a power of balance which will shift massively to companies as new technologies drive productivity increases in the service industry, much as the last three industrial revolutions transformed manufacturing. This is combined with the reported number of nearly 40 Million unemployed  in the first 8 weeks of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This webinar will ask and answer these questions:

  • What lessons can we learn from the past three industrial revolutions and the current state of the labor market?
  • How will we renegotiate the social contract to ensure fairness for workers, set clear rules for companies, and provide stability for society?
  • What is the future of the job landscape post Covid-19? And what are the skills we should all focus on acquiring to ensure our employability?
